Rainy Miller: Interview
My dissertation, titled “The Effects of Globalisation on Local Sound: Contemporary Music Production in an Era of Hyper-connectivity”, revisits two opposing theoretical perspectives, originally proposed over two decades ago, through a contemporary case study of Preston-based artist Rainy Miller. During our interview, I introduced these competing theories, alongside additional academic literature, to explore whether processes of globalisation and hyper-connectivity have diminished, transformed or reinforced the significance of locality in contemporary music production.
